Well said… upgrading ourselves is the only way to stay young, stay relevant, and with the added advantage of experience, we can actually gain a competitive edge.
May I ask—wat’s ur dream job, n how do u keep upgrading urself? How do u manage your time?
Hi, thanks for the comment, my dream would be make a living from writing. I’m not sure about ‘upgrading’ myself but I try to write something each day , and show up on socials to keep building my profile. As for time management, well that’s something I’m still working on . How about you? That’s your dream?
Thanks for this post, Jessica. I am currently 36 (almost 37) and I am in the midst of an unexpected job search. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to leave my old job on my own terms, but nonetheless, your reflection and words are highly appreciated and helpful!
During COVID...I got a chance to pause and really think abt life...like a full on Dr. Strange moment, exploring all my possible paths 😄.... funnyly... everything boiled down to just two things...saving time and staying healthy.
Now.. everything I do revolves around those two goals. I even came up with my own version of time currency... for me, being rich means spending more time doing wat I love. That’s my real measure of wealth.
My dream? As long as my brain’s working fine, I just want to keep doing the things I enjoy. You’ll find a bit more abt tat in my bio!
Honestly....I fall under "Side hustle category"... I do keep myself open to new possibilities...especially if something aligns with my interests and long-term goals.
For now... I’m enjoying exploring different activities on the side.... if something turn into bigger, I’d definitely consider taking tat path.
I surely hope so...today was my last day in my W-2 role and I'm jumping into my own thing full-time.
